Friends only. Yeah, I dislike friends-only journals just as much… - Kristy
Friends only.

Yeah, I dislike friends-only journals just as much as the next guy, and I used to be incredibly public with everything. And then I got this creepy love letter via a different social networking site from the same anonymous someone who used to leave creepy love letters in my locker way back in high school. So, needless to say, my internet presence went on lock down. You could probably still do a reasonable amount of internet stalking if you wanted, or you could just leave a comment here and if I already e-know you, you're probably in. But really, I'm not all that special. This journal's about 30% random rambling, 10% unimportant memes, 40% pictures of my kid, and 10% meaningful thoughts. See user info for more details.

Ah, I think I made a call out a few times for people that had friended me and if there were no responses I didn't add them back. Then I went totally friends-only. Sorry for missing you if you did comment!

Milk Share :)

Thank you so much for responding to my post.
I think it is one of the biggest acts of kindness a person can do.
I’m not sure how this all works so feel free to correct me or add any info I forget to cover.
How old is your baby?
Have you ever had any health problems?
Have you been on medication the past 2 years?
Did you have all required testing & what not when pregnant?
What would you like me to send you? Any brand of bags/containers (I will look for a pump) I can figure out how to do overnight shipping & it is very cold out so I will still check on dry ice? Or ice packs? Anything else we need to cover? I do feel horrible not being able to breastfeed Keira & it is hard to ask for the help of another mother. I believe lots of people use donor milk with no problems. Also if it’s good enough for your precious little one I’m sure you take good care of yourself. What should I do next?

Re: Milk Share :)

You said you're in Grayslake, right? So you're only like 40 minutes from me--no need for shipping! All I need is a pump and I'll start for you, I can give you like 30 ounces I have in my freezer right away if you like. Oh, and for your questions, my daughter's currently 7 months old, I have no known health problems, I don't take any medication (ever, I'm more apt to drink a cup of tea than take an Advil), I do take a multivitamin, and I had all the normal prenatal bloodwork done. I still have a few Medela bags (I like them, they've never leaked for me), so all I need is a pump!

Shoot me an email: kristygarceau at gmail dot com. We can meet up any time if you like.

ironic file

Thanks for your cheap screen printing post. What was really cool was that I had placed this post as a cut and past post so I could look at it when I got out of class for this semester and had more time to look at non-major specific info about art, and culture. The funny thing is I was looking back though stuff on my P.C. to find pictures as to group them together to show inspiration, etc for the final project of class. As I was sorting stuff in my documents folder I had a still image of a cocateal as the picture just before this one as I was using this image to show an idea of inspiration in my project design. (Regarding the little piece of hair that flairs up on the back of their head) When I opened the next file that I had placed long before the before mentioned, it was your screen print info on how to make screen print shirts cheap. when I opened it to see if I still needed what was in this file their was a picture of you, I am guessing its u kissing the same color cocateal.. I found this very ironic just wanted to share with u ... that’s all peace and thanks for the screen print info.

My name is Lynne. I'm 26 and have an (almost) three year old daughter. We live in a zoo with six cats and a dog. I have uber amounts of patience. My husband and I both run our own businesses. I think that's it!

Hi :)

I think you're a member of almost all of the same communities as me... I'm 23 and have a 2 year old daughter. I work full time at night, so I have a lot of time for hobbies during the day. Lately its been crocheting and some container gardening (mostly flowers and veggies)... I'm also learning to knit. Anyway, I'd love to read your journal, if you'd add me.

Golly, I feel like I'm at an interview! I did a search on silk screening tee-shirts, ended up on an LJ site, then got stuck at this stop sign! Stop signs are ridikalous, u know...

Anywayzzz ADD ME. I want to know all about you, after all, isn't that the point? Creepy love letters included! I really do enjoy wasting me time reading about people I've never met, nor will I ever meet.. I'm not sure why. I guess it's for the same reason I enjoy going to a football game, or whatever. You get to see so many people, who are so different, yet.. so similar, and that's the cool thing about online journals.

i guess nobody likes a nosey nobody.

I've seen you around and we have a lot of the same communities. Would you mind if I add you? I've always enjoyed reading your comments and seeing pics of your little girl. I think our kids are around the same age, my son is 17 months. =) I don't post a whole lot but enjoy reading and commenting. From the communities, it looks like we have a lot in common and our parenting styles seem to be similar. And I went to college in Chicago area (River Forest/Oak Park) and it always has a warm place in my heart.

silkscreen article

I am starting a new free to the public on line Arts Magazine called Creating Linus. It will feature: How to articles, Artist interviews and showcase Artists works of all disciplines. I am currently looking for Article Contributions for our First Issue scheduled for Sept 1st, 2010.

Articles could be as simple as:  my favorite paintbrush and how it changed my life  to a 10 page tutorial on how to make a sterling silver locket or How to sharpen a carving chisel.

I came across your tutorial on silkscreening and would like to feature it in the Magazine.

At present Creating Linus can only offer exposure in-exchange for articles.  All Contributors will be featured in the Contributors Gallery with links to their website, 2 photos of their work and a short bio and a full page ad with web links either in the edition your article is published or the following edition (your choice).
If you have an idea for an Article or already have a finished one - and wish to contribute to the September issue (or future ones) please submit to
Thank you,
Nicole Baxter,
Jewellery Artist and Creating Linus Founder

i saw your posting about screen printing in another community, and i knew it was posted almost 6 years ago so i figured it was nearly useless to comment directly on that page. i have ONE question, and i went through every single page of comments on that entry and didn't find my answer, and no, it's not a silly answer like "wAt glue d0 i uze?/ WHERE Do I bUy SPEEDBALL iNK?!?!?" so, if you could help me out, please let me know and i'll send you an email or another comment. thanks either way, really

111neely_ohara From: 111neely_ohara Date: August 27th, 2010 10:00 pm (UTC) (Link)
ah, thank you so much! so, i've tried screen printing like 3 or 4 shirts now, all with the same problem happening. i use mod podge, curtain sheers, embroidery hoop, the cheap stiff paintbrushes, and speedball fabric ink. every shirt i get is coming out missing half of the image almost, i've tried one layer of paint, and two layers and it still didn't help. the images all look "distressed" and just really BAD. i would like a clean, nice, bold image. if you have ANY idea what's happening here, i'd truly appreciate your help. wish i could figure out what i'm doing wrong!! the ONLY thing i can think of, is when i peel the embroidery hoop off after i'm doing painting, it feels like THAT is what's bringing up the ink... but i have no idea as i just started doing this. i bought some tulle as well, should i try using that instead?

here are some images of how my picture is coming out:

girlx512 From: girlx512 Date: August 27th, 2010 10:21 pm (UTC) (Link)
Alright, in my not-so-expert opinion, maybe use more ink? And REALLY mash it through the fabric with the paint brush? Maybe experiment on some scraps so you don't waste a whole t-shirt?

Good luck!

thanks so very much for your advice!! and i'll try adding a 3rd or 4th layer.. how many layers do you usually do?
girlx512 From: girlx512 Date: August 27th, 2010 10:57 pm (UTC) (Link)
I wouldn't try doing extra layers, I'd shoot for a REALLY thick first layer.

moaddams From: moaddams Date: January 7th, 2015 06:12 pm (UTC) (Link)
Okay, I sent another request I think :)

We have a lot in common. I have a 5 year old daughter, only child, and I am homeschooling her as well. I worry over the lack of interaction with kids her own age, and worry about screwing her up..

And I deal with anxiety and depression, and am on medication for it. Things go up and down, but I always love reading about your life, and your daughter. It helps me stay positive.
girlx512 From: girlx512 Date: January 7th, 2015 06:39 pm (UTC) (Link)
So, do you have any pictures of you and/or your kid? I'm a much more visual person and might stand a chance at remembering you if so :)
